What is a ghostwriter, and how can they help you?

As might be expected from a title such as ghostwriter, there is an awful lot of mystery surrounding this line of work.

When I say I’m a ghostwriter, it often prompts both puzzled and amused looks. It’s not a surprise that there’s so little known about us. By definition, a ghostwriter is meant to remain invisible to the public. Their job is to tell the stories of others, capturing the style and voice of a client to convey their message.

Business owners often don’t have the time or energy it takes to regularly update social media, or write up information about their brand. Running a business is frequently a juggling act between our professional and personal lives. Whether we are hat makers, stylists or nutritionists, we are passionate about what we do. However, that passion can run dry when we lack the knowledge, interest or energy to promote our business. It's an essential, yet cumbersome task that takes up a lot of time. Time that could be spent running your business, or finding fulfillment in other areas of our lives, such as with family and friends.

A ghostwriter can capture your unique brand, style and voice to convey an engaging and provocative message to potential clients. This can range from:

• Writing articles for blogs, newsletters or brochures.
• Twitter, Facebook or other social media management.
• Construction of LinkedIn profiles.


We are apparitions exist to illuminate and help. You can draw people to your business, while focusing on what led you to create that business in the first place. In other words; ghostwriters are there to capture what you do best in words, so you have more time to actually do it!
